Sitari is an adaptive reading platform designed to help you reflect on what you've read and deepen your comprehension through meaningful conversations. The platform offers two modes to support your learning journey.
The Two Modes
🧪 Tester Mode
Purpose: Test and evaluate your comprehension with structured feedback and metrics.
Best for:
- Formal reading assessments
- Progress tracking with confidence and completion metrics
- Understanding where you stand with specific reading material
- Getting detailed feedback on your comprehension level
What you'll see:
- Progress bar showing how far you've come
- Confidence score reflecting your understanding
- Session status (passed, needs more testing, or in progress)
- Turn count to track conversation depth

Purpose: A supportive reading companion to help you understand your book while you read (no testing or grading).
Best for:
- Learning more about the book: plot, characters, themes, motivations
- Background info: when it was written, setting, historical context
- Help with vocabulary, idioms, weird phrases, and confusing lines
- Clarifying confusing scenes and “what just happened” moments
- Understanding unfamiliar references or social context
What you'll see:
- A “Coming soon” page while Mentor is being built
- No metrics, progress bars, or evaluation language

- Start the Conversation: Share what you understood from your reading. Don't worry about being perfect—just express your thoughts naturally.
- Engage with Follow-ups: Sitari will ask thoughtful questions to help you explore the material more deeply. Take your time to think and respond.
- Use the Reset Button: If you want to start fresh with a new topic or book, click the "Reset" button in the top right.
Tips for Success
- Take Your Time: There's no rush. Think through your responses carefully.
- Ask Questions: If something is unclear, feel free to ask for clarification.
- Be Specific: The more details you share, the better Sitari can understand and support your learning.
- Stay Engaged: Multiple exchanges help build a deeper understanding of the material.
- Switch Modes: Use Tester Mode when you need assessment, and Mentor Mode when you want to explore freely.
Teacher Features
If you're a teacher, you can access the Admin Dashboard at /edu/teacher to:
- Monitor all student sessions in real-time
- View conversation history and comprehension metrics
- Assign books and set reading goals
- Mark sessions as passed, failed, or needing more testing
- Add notes and customize session details
Privacy & Security
Your conversations are stored securely and are only accessible to you and your teacher. Each session is tied to your browser, and you can reset your conversation history at any time.
